Summer debuts in Italy
This summer I'm in Italy and am very, very excited to be making my debut as Don Ramiro in Rossini’s La Cenerentola (Cinderella). To be honest I wasn’t sure I had the voice to tackle the gymnastics of this role, so I am very grateful to Teatro dell’Opera Giocosa, and particularly conductor Giovanni Di Stefano, for giving me this wonderful opportunity.
Let’s be honest, I wish my life was a Disney film with birds and mice that sing to me in the mornings, grand balls and enchanted roses; but playing Prince Charming onstage will have to do. However, I do get a castle! We will be performing the opera at the ‘Priamar Fortress’ overlooking the Mediterranean Sea in Savona.
Following Cenerentola there is a fantastic concert of music by Donizetti and Rossini titled Cinderella's Boys with the other guys from La Cenerentola cast.
Then I will be heading back to Orvieto to make another debut as Nemorino in Donizetti's L'Elisir D'Amore for the Spazio Musica festival.
